Muizenberg is rich with history from the time of colonial Cape Town, it has evolved into a multi-cultural seaside village that is home to surfers, artists, hipsters, writers and many families who have lived there for generations.
With a flare for the quirky, and down to earth flavour that is truly a part of South African culture, the community of Muizenberg is welcoming and ready to invite you in for a taste of seaside essence.
Muizenberg hosts several opportunities for adventure; ranging from hiking the neighbouring Pecks Valley trails to kite Surfing at Sunrise Beach (a favourite spot for the local kitesurfing community).
Shark Spotters and The False Bay Surf Life Saving Club cover the beach to ensure the safety of beach goers, swimmers and surfers.
Surfer's Corner in Muizenberg is a popular surfing destination, feature warmer water and moderate waves.

A lesser-known kiteboarding hotspot that is a bit further down the beach than the more well-known Surfer's Corner area. Sunrise Beach is great for beginners with it's safe beach break and on-shore wind in summer, but is still fun for the more experienced rider with plenty of wind on tap for reaching decent heights. Water temperature in False Bay is warmer than most of the other spots around Cape Town.
Best Wind: on-shore S-SE in summer, SW can be gusty, wind range 10 - 30+ knots
